Nathaniel Ginder
Over the last few years, crystallographic structures of certain bacterial channels have revolutionized our view of channels at the molecular level. Nathaniel is a trained crystallographer and we are excited that he will be joining our project to develop assays for recombinant eukaryotic channel proteins, purified from yeast expression systems, and from bacteria as chimeric proteins, both to study channel function, and to crystallize these proteins. By combining studies of static crystals with functional analysis of recombinant channels, this work promises to take our understanding of the molecular basis of channel function to levels.
