May 20th, 2016 – Gregory Bowman, PhD, assistant professor of biochemistry and molecular biophysics received a BWF Ad Hoc grant in support of a workshop entitled “The 2016 Workshop on Kinetics and Markov State Models (MSMs) in Drug Design” held on May 19-20 at the Novartis Institutes for Biomedical Research in Cambridge, Massachusetts.

April 27th, 2016 – Peter M. Burgers, PhD, Marvin A. Brennecke Professor of Biological Chemistry, department of biochemistry and molecular biophysics received a five year MIRA grant award from the National Institute of General Medical Sciences for his research entitles “Mechanisms of DNA Replication and Maintenance in Eukaryotes”.

April 20th, 2016 – John A Cooper, MD, PhD, Wittcoff Professor and Head of biochemistry and molecular biophysics received a new five year MIRA grant award from National Institute of General Medical Sciences for his research entitled “Actin Assembly and Cell Motility: Mechanisms and Regulation”.

Pharmacological modulation of poly(ADP-ribose) metabolism

March 27th, 2016 – Thomas Ellenberger, DVM, PhD, professor of biochemistry and molecular biophysics, along with Darin E. Jones, PhD, assistant professor of organic, pharmaceutical, and biochemistry at the University of Arkansas at Little Rock, received a new five year grant award from National Cancer Institute of the National Institutes of Health (NIH) for their research entitled “Pharmacological modulation of poly(ADP-ribose) metabolism”.
